Be glad you were wearing booties. I was walking across the reefs like this photo (Impossibles & Uluwatu at low tide) bare footed doing the chicken walk. I can't stand wearing booties in warm water.
On the way home I had to stop over in Singapore. I had to stop and rest walking thru the airport because my feet were so badly cut. I mostly did it the morning I left at Ulu super low tide being in a rush to get back to pack & leave. Dumb, I know, but the surf was rock'n!
Lol... I hated those long reef walks at low tide in Bali. I called it "doing the bird walk".
It's been over 2 months back from Bali and I still have the reef cuts on my feet showing.
