Surfed a shortboard for 35 years with a damaged back. Back and shoulders finally gave out. Super sad, then I realized SUP surfing doesnt hurt my back, so I'm back out...just on a 7'10 and 7'6 now. Of course, it's really strange having all these years under my belt, and now I'm getting a lot of hate in the line-up from total kooks.
