I am looking for a good beginners spot for spring break. We are looking at Turtle Bay, but I think it is too advanced for me. Any suggestions?

Oahu north shore, "Chuns". For the south shore "Waikiki" among many others.
Maui, not really a lot of surf over there because the island is shadowed out by the other islands. But all in-between Kihei and Lahaina (towards Lahaina more) there are lots of mellow spots if there's any surf.
