I can't seem to find a tail pad these days that doesn't have the diamond shapes with sharp points. These sharp points not only wear my wetsuit knee pads out fast but also my knees surfing warm water. 
Any suggested tail pads without the diamond shapes?

Check out our surf shop. Go to the surf accessories section and click traction pads in the search box type in "DaKine Pancho Pro Traction Pad".
Also search for "icon". There should be a few from x-track without the diamonds. I'm sure there's a lot more you can find just by clicking around in our surf shop.
